Recommended Monitors, Cuffs and Tools
The kit works with any validated upper-arm monitor. Most measurement errors come from the wrong cuff, so start with the cuff finder in chapter 2, then choose a monitor whose cuff range covers your arm.

Monitor and cuff
- Validated upper-arm blood pressure monitor
Automatic, upper-arm, with a memory for at least two users. The kit logs two readings each morning and evening, so a monitor that stores them saves typing.
Check the exact model on validatebp.org (US) or stridebp.org before you buy. Wrist and finger monitors are not recommended for routine readings.
See options on Amazon - Large adult cuff (about 32 to 42 cm)
For arms the standard cuff does not fit: a cuff that is too small reads too high (chapter 2).
Buy the cuff made for your monitor brand and model; cuffs do not swap between brands.
See options on Amazon - Extra-large cuff (about 42 to 52 cm)
For very large arms; some monitors offer one as an accessory.
Check it fits your monitor model.
See options on Amazon - Soft tape measure
Measure your upper arm for the cuff finder, halfway between shoulder and elbow.

Routine
- Weekly pill organizer (morning and evening)
The log has a box for taking your medicine; an organizer makes the tick honest.
See options on Amazon - A firm chair with a back and a small table
Seated with your back supported and your arm at heart height is two of the seven rules. Use the same chair every time.
